BUDDY READING

The children are super lucky to have their reading programme supported by senior students in the school. This week saw them meet their buddy for the first time and then they had the chance to sit with them and read. It is all about supporting the children and giving them yet another opportunity to read to someone else. The more reading the children do the chances of their reading improving goes up.  Children loved the opportunity and found some really cool places to read.

  1. Oh, what a fantastic example of tuakana-teina and showing our New Windsor Way . Thank you Mrs Tipelu for sharing this with us.
What were they practising while they were reading?

    1. Thanks for your comments about this. It's such a cool thing to see the senior children reading with juniors to support them. I wish it was right across the juniors and all children had the reading millage to help support them.

  3. Thanks for your comments. The children really enjoy this activity and taking responsibility for a junior student. I am sure some of them missed it while were were in lockdown.
