End of term Play Based learning

WOW.  kids had a great day and loved playing and leannig all day. They started the day doing activites in their own classroom before joining with rooms 1 and 2 in the pool.

After morning tea, all the children went and  showed off the locomation skills they had learnt throughout the term. They jumped, hopped, ran, skipped, kangaroo jumped, frog jumped, and moved  in a variety of other ways.

The P.E and sports gear came out and the children were allowed to explore and experiment with all of the equiptment. They loved creating new games and having fun with their friends and using the it is different ways.

The  last part of the block there was free choice activities. A group of girls made a pretend fire and were toasting marshmellow,  some choose to  look for treasure in the sand pit. There were zombies on the play ground, and others drawing rainbow ice creams with chalk. Lots of imagination  was used in the all the activities they were making up. Along with having a load of fun.

Then finally it was game time, duck duck goose or dancing.  Wow  what a day , no wonder the kids the children were super tired by lunch time.

Completed Art

The children completed their art during the week, adding the rainbow. It was a new technique for them and myself, but the results from 5 years old in making a beautiful rainbow are pretty awesome.
Check out some of the children working on the final part of the project. They had to gently scrap the paint across the paper with a peice of cardboard making it blend and spread out as it went. Hard for some kids who thought they needed to press hard.

Little free lunchs

As part of a whole school project, the children have been learning how to have a lunch box that is little free. Here are some great examples from our  class on how to do this,  Great job to the kids and parents who are working  towards having less litter in their lunch boxes. You are helping the school environment and doing a great job.

The teaching table is great, kids  love siting around it and doing all activites, They love looking for words in their readers that are written on the table, using it for maths and a whole lot of other activities.
