Learning never stops:

 In room 5 the beautiful children were all so focused and are working very hard to learn their high frequency words and letter and sounds names.

The  bigger students continue to support the younger students with their reading. They help them select books from their familiar reads and go and help them read. It is so lovely to see them helping the younger reader become confident readers. They seniors are very responsible when they come and assit them. 

                 

     

   

 

Straight back into it.

 We are back in to full swing again with our reading after a week of lockdown again. The kids couldn't wait to read to their buddies again outside. They were also very keen and eager to write out new words or point to the letters they are learning.   Everyone loves reading daily. Keep up the great work kids and families who listen to them at home.

  
 

BUDDY READING

The children are super lucky to have their reading programme supported by senior students in the school. This week saw them meet their buddy for the first time and then they had the chance to sit with them and read. It is all about supporting the children and giving them yet another opportunity to read to someone else. The more reading the children do the chances of their reading improving goes up.  Children loved the opportunity and found some really cool places to read. 

      

        

 Wow, We were very lucky to get through just 3 days of lockdown. It was great to hear that the children continued their reading when they were at home. ]

The children love finding the high frequency words in the books, writing them down, and spelling them out loud. It's such a great way to help them with the new words.  They are doing amazing alphabetic work as they find letters from their name, say the name and sound of that letter. Some of them are still writing them down to help them as well.

Keep up the great work of reading with your children and talking about the books they read. They love it when they earn a sticker on their chart.

 

               

 YEAH:  Our reading groups are up and running. The children are now coming to see us in room 5 every day.  They love looking at and learning the alphabet, saying the letter sounds, and names. Reading the new books and finding the words in the book.  

It is so great to see them come to reading with a big smile on their face.  Thankyou for supporting them everyday and reading with them

Welcome to year 2021

Welcome to 2021. Let me introduce myself. I am Mrs Helen Tipelu. I have been involved with the school  for over 20 years. You will have seen me around in lots of different classes. I have taught all year levels. Please say hello to me when you see me.

A big warm welcome to all our new families. Looking forward to the year ahead and what awesome adventures and activities,  fun and learning awaits us all. Lets have a great year everyone.

You will find me mostly in room 5 at the start of the year as I support our lovely children with reading.
