Art Continues

The next stage of the art has now been completed, The children used another new technique of painting with a recycled toilet paper, The effect is awesome and kids loved using something really different to create part of their art.

  

New Art

The next art project has  began. The children painted a backgroud today by uing a sponge and a peg to hold it. They had to dip it into a choice of 4 colours It was interesting watching the kids  just try and dap the paint, to created a textured appearance.  Keep an eye out on this page to see the final result.

Fine motor skills today with lego

Today we used a variety of differnt skills while using the lego. Mrs Tipelu would roll the dice and that is how many pieces of lego we were allowed to pick up, we were allowed to put them together any way we wanted. Each time the dice was rolled we kept on adding to our creation. It was fun to put the lego together, pull it apart with our little fingers and only use a certain number of pieces. More Matariki

The children have continued their learning about Matariki in the classroom. They are learning facts about Matariki and the names of the stars. As well as producing some cool art to hang in our cloak bay the children have been sing matariki songs in class.

Matariki Art

Before heading back to the education room to do their art the children walked down a really cool  staricase,  fromt the bottom the children said that it looked kind of like an eye.  We were then shown a display made by children out of clay, before having a quick break and a biscuit to eat  Then it was off to be creative. The children had an amazing time as they continued their learning about Matariki.  ( The Maori new year ) They sketched a draft of what they would like to see on their star and the got to scratch out of cold wax their final peice. Some really talanted children in room 3.  The final pieces are hanging in the classroom. Come on in and have a look at the wonderful creations.

                    

  

Art Gallery trip

Last Thursday the children  had an awesome trip to Te Uru art gallery, It was a great experience and the children and some of the parents had the opportunity to look at and play some hand crafted musical instruments. The sounds that they made were very intereting.
